                                             All Dogs Are Created UnEqual

People have problems with dogs when they humanize them and treat them equally giving them higher status within the family than they actually need to be good dogs. Usually we mean a good dog is one that listens to us and does what we want. In short they are good followers. However the problem begins when people treat dogs equally. A dog's mind is not the same as a person's mind. Dogs need to treated unequally.

That is the way nature intended it. When people treat dogs as equals dogs feel they do not need to respect their owners. What I can do is help you to see how you are falling short in the alpha department (the leader). I can help you to see your dog the way he sees you. I can help you to understand what thoughts you hold surrounding your dog that are getting in the way of you becoming alpha. Often people project their emotional needs onto their dogs probably because they aren't getting their needs met by their human counterparts. Now dogs do love people but when they are not allowed to be what nature intended them to be they become frustrated and start doing "bad behaviors". These bad deeds are really the product of being forced into an unhealthy relationship with their humans. This is really a communication from your dog that your relationship is amiss.

I have spent my entire life studying the psychological workings of people and can help you to become aware of the source of your unhealthy thinking. A woman client I recently helped had four little dogs she called her "children". One of them bit me upon the first meeting. I did nothing wrong but the dog wanted to protect his "momma" because she was incapable of fending for herself in the dog's eyes. The dog's viewpoint was that there was no one to provide a sense of leadership and authority guiding her about what to do and not do so she had to take charge of the potentially threatening situation. It was a warning.

The woman client did not want to change this relationship with her dogs. She did not want to stop these guys being furry children. She loved it. She didn't see aggression as a sign that something was wrong with the relationship but rather just something to ignore. Unless people are 100% committed to uncovering their own invested psychological and emotional dysfunction nothing will change. It doesn't matter what trainer, which collar, what food or anything else you do. It is all about your relationship with your dog.

I can help you shine the light onto the power of your inner mind and uncover why you are doing what you are doing with your dog. Then you will be ready to begin learning how dogs think and what to do to take control of your dog mentally. This is the key to changing your dog's behavior.

What's the one thing customers always ask me?

Customers always ask me if I can train their dog. I always say, "Well I COULD train your dog. But what is it you really want from your dog? You want him to listen to you and do what you want, right? Well training is okay for dogs who are happy-go-lucky types but if you have a dog with problems like fear or aggression or poor recall then training will not be as effective. The reason why this is true is because training is based on positive reinforcement and this is unnatural in the dog world. You never see an alpha dog offering his pack followers a treat for doing what he asks. It will never happen.

Dogs only respond to the system of hierarchy. And alpha dogs command respect from their followers through having higher rank with more responsibility and perks whereas their followers must follow and must wait for food, affection and sleep in a  less comfy spot. The guy with the power gets the better stuff.
